  • South Africa: ANC stalwarts criticise current leadership

    By ACTSA | December 19, 2016

A group of veteran ANC members including the three surviving Rivonia Trialists, Ahmed Kathrada, Denis Goldberg and Andrew Mlangeni, have expressed their concerns about the conduct and direction of the party and the government.

The 100 ANC stalwarts released the statement at the end of October but the full text of the document remained unreleased, until now.  They have since met three times with the leadership of the ANC and have now decided to publish the full paper they have been using in their discussions with the ANC leadership.

They have since met with the leadership of the ANC three times and have now decide to publish the paper they have been using in their discussions with the ANC leadership. It is reported that the veterans are not happy that their call for a consultative conference has been met by adding this to the scheduled ANC policy conference at the end of June 2017.
