Youth and Students
Solidarity between young people in the UK and southern Africa is more important now then it has ever been.

Whilst recent democratic elections in the region are a cause to celebrate, we cannot forget some of the problems that southern Africa faces today;

  • HIV/AIDS is at record levels throughout the region

  • Zimbabwe and Swaziland suffer from a lack of democracy, justice and rights

  • Many young people lack access to free education

  • The legacy of Apartheid lives on through inequality, underdevelopment and poverty

ACTSA works with student’s unions, NUS, youth groups, teaching unions and schools to raise awareness of these issues, engaging in projects which help to build a better future for young people in southern Africa.
